G. Loomis GLX 1084 – 9' #4 2-Piece Fly Rod

A superb example of the highly regarded G. Loomis GLX 1084, a 9' #4 two-piece fly rod.

This is a stunning rod in exceptionally clean condition and has clearly been well cared for. The blank is completely free from marks or scratches, and all the guides and rings are in excellent condition.

All guides and rings are in excellent condition, with no visible damage or corrosion.

The cork grip shows some light discolouration from use, as you would expect from a rod that has been fished, but it is not filthy, damaged or excessively worn. The cork remains in very good condition.

There is one extremely small cosmetic mark on the metal reel-seat screw ring and a small scratch on the reel-seat spacer, both of which are genuinely tiny and shown in the photographs.

Overall, this is a particularly clean and attractive GLX.

Original tube and sock

The rod comes with its original black Cordura rod tube. The tube has noticeable sun fading from age, but remains sound and is the original tube supplied with the rod.

The original grey rod sock is also included. The original label has unfortunately been lost, although the sock retains its original shoelace-style tie cord.

The model designation is neatly stencilled in black permanent marker on the flap of the sock.

A note on condition

I have tried to describe the rod accurately and fairly. The blank itself is exceptionally clean, with no marks or scratches, and the rings are all in excellent condition.

The only cosmetic points worth mentioning are the slight soiling/discolouration to the cork, the tiny mark on the reel-seat screw ring, the small scratch on the reel-seat spacer, and the sun fading to the original tube.

This is a beautiful example of a GLX 1084, and is ready to fish.
